about this poster

Television and color test pattern poster, “STAND BY”

Perched on slender legs, a television set with rounded lines displays a color bar test pattern, with a tall antenna on top. It holds pride of place in a calm living room, as if waiting for the programs to begin. This television poster is soft and graphic: the bright color bands bring the screen to life amid a peaceful setting, in a mid-20th-century spirit. The title “STAND BY” refers to that wait, with the screen on but nothing on the air yet.

A TV poster for the living room or a broadcast enthusiast

It suits a living room, a TV corner, an office or a home theater. Its bright colors on a calm background pair well with teak wood, velvet and furniture with tapered legs. It can join other posters of everyday objects or cinema. Placed above a TV stand, it adds a playful nod to the very real screen just below. It is the perfect gift for a television professional, a video editor, a broadcast enthusiast or a collector of vintage sets.
