Vivienne Gallery covered passage and glass roof in Paris poster

Galerie Vivienne poster, the Parisian covered passage

The interior of the Galerie Vivienne stretches into a long perspective beneath its glass roof. On the floor, the mosaic traces its patterns all the way to the end of the passage, where the light draws the eye. A woman, seen from behind and holding a bag, walks slowly toward the far end of the gallery, where 2 distant silhouettes can be made out in the light of this elegant, silent setting. This poster of the Galerie Vivienne in Paris favors depth and calm over the bustle of the boulevards. The lettering “PARIS” accompanies this scene, in a vertical size that captures all the gentleness of the capital’s covered passages.

A Parisian passage for an entryway or hallway

Its deep perspective works very well in a hallway, an entryway or at the end of a landing, where it seems to extend the space. It pairs with brass, marble, cement tiles and furniture with classic lines. Hung near other Paris posters, it adds a more intimate note. It makes a great gift for a lover of Parisian architecture, for someone who enjoys browsing the covered passages or for a couple who strolled through one on a weekend getaway.
